Forgiveness

This one word can hold many feelings and reactions ranging from a sense of calm and acceptance to anger and resentment.

Forgiveness is not about okaying the other person or act that has done us wrong, it is about freeing ourselves and making the decision to no longer suffer or live in the past.

Carrying anger and hurt changes who we are and continues to give the other person power over your life, sometimes after many years.

If you find it hard to say ” I forgive you” try saying ” I’m letting it go” This 2nd phrase focuses on the positive outcome for ourselves.

When we learn to forgive it is a gift to ourselves.
